“Bochka” e “Ploskij”

Looking back at the history and significance of an fireplace, came up an idea to create an element, that would contain all that functions, meanings and  importance that a traditional fireplace had in the past interpreted in modern way, suitable for a modern interior. What came up are two different concepts: "Bochka" and "Ploskij", they still have a function of a heating distributor, but they are more sophisticated, more innovative.

They both have a "lounge" area, what is rare used nowadays in fireplace designs, however our ancestors were sleeping above or on the top of the fireplaces, as it has a unique ability to heal. Just imagine to read a book in cold winter day with cup of hot chocolate lying in preheated, soft lounge sofa, that is  main idea or a main feeling hidden in both concepts.

While the "Bochka" is a central - island element, that is taught for bigger spaces and can be located in the center of a space, becoming a central element of your interior, the "Ploskij" is more simple and is taught for smaller spaces and can be attached to the wall.

Both of designs have something traditional Russian, like the "Bochka" - that means "barile", is more robust, masculine like a traditional Russian fireplace, that is big central element, and the "Ploskij" - "piatto", more simple and delicate, little bit futuristic, like a thin tela that is embroidered with "hohloma", traditional Russian decoration.

There is as well deep studies of a heat distribution under, the "ploskij" for example heats the cold air and distributes it between two layers of surfaces to outside, heating as well the top surface where is located the so called lounge, while the system of a "bochka" is more complicated, the fire heats the side walls behind which is hidden a reservoir with water,  and heats tubes above, that circulate hot water to the side walls of a fireplace first, and than on the way to the reservoir passes the lounge are, in that case it gives possibility to heat the space and keep warm the seating area that is integrated on the top.
